Galaxy Note 5 To Feature An Improved Security Suite

Samsung-Galaxy-Note-Edge-AH-2

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 phablet is supposed to be launched soon. It was initially reported that the device will launch in September during IFA, but latest rumors have suggested that the device might launch next month. The Galaxy Note 5 will be yet another premium offering by Samsung, and the company’s flagship phablet for this year. We’ve already seen a ton of leaks regarding this smartphone, and we’ll talk more about that later on. Let’s tackle the new happenings first, shall we.

A new report surfaced, talking about the security aspect of the Galaxy Note 5. According to the report, Galaxy Note 5 will offer enhanced mobile security. As you all probably know, Samsung is big into security and they’ve been announcing all sorts of security-oriented features in the-the last couple of years, from KNOX to fingerprint scanners. Anyhow, this is what the CEO of Oberthur Technologies (France-based mobile security company) had to say: ”In the Note 5, our security elements will be directly linked to the (handset’s) application processor, which was not the case before, and that will enable faster communication between the embedded security elements and the processor.” Mr. Lamouche has also said that the device will ship with a new mobile security suite, and it seems like he’s talking about the new version of KNOX.

It seems like this security firm is also working with Samsung in order to improve its fingerprint scanning capabilities (compared to previous models). ”We are in the final talks with three to four major European banks including those in Spain and Poland in order to implement that system (which connects users, devices and solutions) very soon in the market,” said Mr. Oberthur. Samsung and Oberthur Technologies are reportedly meeting up quite frequently in order to discuss further security enhancements. The two companies are actually working together for a long time now, this security company has helped Samsung develop the security aspect of the Galaxy S4, S5, S6 and the S6 Edge.

That’s more or less it. The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will launch on August 13th, or during IFA in Berlin in September, depending on which rumor you choose to believe in. Samsung’s upcoming phablet will reportedly sport a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, 4GB of RAM and will be powered by the Exynos 7422 SoC. Stay tuned for more info, we’ll report back as soon as possible.
